Life Goes On?
Calvin is a stoic, self-effacing thirty-something convinced a grin-and-bear-it approach is the best way around life’s challenges– until a health scare leaves him ridesharing to the ER because he can’t afford insurance and wishing his loved ones had cooler things to say about him in their eulogies. After his harrowing medical emergency turns out not to be so harrowing at all, he decides it’s time to turn his life around— only to quickly discover the only way to revive his stalled acting career, save his deteriorating relationship with his boyfriend and navigate his way through an unexpected death that has hurled him into an existential crisis of epic proportions might be to move through his hardships, rather than around them. Blending elements of musical, memory play and confessional monologue into a wryly comedic script with a pop-infused score, "Life Goes On?" explores the journey through grief, the inertia of life, the unspoken dread of death and all the funny, messy, weird, sexy, embarrassing, joyful moments in between.
